The sounder VAD (visual alarm device) for conventional fire alarm systems is a red, durable sounder beacon that is certified to EN54-23 and ensures reliability and energy efficiency.
Its design centres around low current consumption with a patented optics lens, switchable coverage volume, soft startup with a reduced current peak and circuit loading and optional 0.5Hz or 1Hz settings all intended to minimise power wastage.
Its high sound output makes it suitable for open areas such as warehouses or factories. As standard, UK alarm tones are included alongside an “E” version that incorporates the German DIN tone and the Netherlands Slow Whoop. Options are also available for weatherproof IP66 versions of both the base-only and full unit.
VADs provide a clear signal of evacuation for any occupant that may not be alerted by an audible alarm due to working in a noisy environment like a factory, if they are hard of hearing or increasingly in office and educational environments due to wearing headphones.
